The thing I love most about art shows at the Grand Central Art Center (GCAC) in Santa Ana, California is the location. Santa Ana is trying to build an arts community and set the GCAC smack in the middle of it. It is a chained off block of beautiful old buildings with art studios, restaurants, benches and the obligatory fountain.

The GCAC treats us well. We get a little apartment to stay in while we are mounting the show. It is very modern, furnished by Ikea. My favorite apartment is the corner with lots of windows, a small bedroom, living area and kitchen.

It took a week to prepare for Clowntown. On Opening Night Extremo was extremo-ly excited.

Extremo spent a few days painting the windows on the GCAC, getting the place spiffed up.

As usual he wanted to start playing at noon instead of waiting for the 7:00 pm opening. He spent a lot of his afternoon singing with Spanky. This is his favorite part of the day.

People showed up and looked at all the clowny art.

Extremo knows how to insert himself into every situation.

Haha!

Extremo Fans show up everywhere he goes!

The 3 artists were John Muldar, Dark Vomit and Extremo. This is a piece by John. Dark Vomit did the best art piece ever called the
Last Supper. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it. Follow the link to see it, just know anything on the web does not do it justice. It is amazing!

These are the artists: Dark Vomit, John Muldar, Extremo and the guy that did all the electronics, sorry, I didn't get his name.

The night was Extremo-ly fun. We had a great trip but it was time to head home.

Awesome photos! Thank you some much for your kind words of Grand Central Art Center. We really are blessed to have you part of our family. To all Extremo fans, we have not seen the last of Extremo at GCAC.....
Best wishes.
One summer I ran away with the circus, so I'm a tough critic when it comes to clowns...
Extremo is brilliant!!!!
